Duma readies bill obliging IT firms to register Russia subsidiaries

MOSCOW, Feb 8 (PRIME) -- The committee for information policies of the State Duma, parliament's lower chamber, has prepared a bill obliging foreign IT companies to establish affiliates in Russia, head of the committee Alexander Khinshtein said on Monday.

"There is a topic we are discussing and there is an order by president on the need to establish by law an obligation to create affiliates or representations of foreign IT companies in Russia,” Khinshtein said.

“The committee has elaborated the initiative. We are about to complete it with the interested authorities. I think that we will submit it (to the State Duma) soon."
